Blood is (not) thicker than Water is an art work in progress inspired and dedicated to my Grandmother Martha Masha (Cvjeticanin) Popovich.
My work is consisting of text, video and photographs, in attempt to piece together the complex and surprising connections between migrant worlds of our past and our nowadays. Based on a true story of my ancestors who moved to the USA in 1905, I would love to contribute, support and share through this artistic initiative and reviled little part of invisible family histories of migrants and nostalgia as a motion in hands of foreign policies strategies.
The work itself is a part of a wide world platform Immigrant Movement International initiated by artist Tania Bruguera.
